The pin is in the right place and people still cannot find you

A correct address and a correct pin are not the same thing, and neither guarantees that the route ends at your door rather than behind the building.

Wayfinding failures are silent. Nobody calls to say they could not find you; they arrive late and annoyed, or they do not arrive.

What to put in the public brief

Keep the business name and exact address private until the spot is reserved.

What to put in the private instructions

  1. Ask them to navigate from a specified starting point

Not from wherever they happen to be. A route from the nearest station tests a different thing from a route from the ring road, and you should know which you are testing.

  2. Ask where the route ended

Precisely. In front of the entrance, at the back, on the wrong side of a road they cannot cross, or at a neighbouring unit.

  3. Ask for a photograph from the pavement

Approaching from each direction. This is the image most worth adding to your own listing afterwards.

  4. Ask what they would have done without the task

The honest answer is often "called" or "given up", and either tells you what the failure costs.

Proof worth requiring

Ask for

A screenshot of the route as the app gave it, photographs of the approach from both directions, where the route actually terminated, and which app.

Do not ask for

Any edit or correction submitted to the map platform on your behalf. Listing changes should come from the verified owner, and a stranger's edit can be rejected in ways that are awkward to undo.

When this task type is the wrong tool

If your listing has the wrong address on it, fix that first — you do not need to pay anyone to discover a typo you can read yourself.

If the question is whether people can find you in search rather than on the ground, a local search check is the cheaper instrument and needs no travel.

Check your directions

Set the reward and the locations you need checked. Workers nearby reserve a spot; the business and address stay private until they do.
